Happy Mothers Day to all you wonderful, caring, thoughtful, and loving mommies! Here's a tribute to my mother, the Yellow Rose of Texas, on this day of celebration.
We outfitted my big sister's table with artificial blue bonnets, yellow roses, greenery and Texas Star wall hangings, AND homemade Pecan Logs! The roses in the centerpiece are real though ;). I also made a pecan pie for the first time ever, and it was YUM YUM YUM! The cake pictured below is a coconut flavored cake with a pineapple coconut filling, coconut flavored buttercream icing and is covered in sugar fondant for the decorations.
You can't see it too well, but the table cloth that I "made" is a yellow and white checker cloth. Nothing that a little stitch witchery and hot steam iron can't handle. 20 minutes. Seriously.
For the other mom in the family, her favorite colors are red and black, so I whipped up a dozen of these down here.
